The Zone @ 91-3 is proud to support Canada’s National Gingerbread Showcase for its 7^th consecutive year at the Inn at Laurel Point.

The showcase will open on Saturday, November 21 and run until Sunday, January 3 from 9AM – 9PM daily

Stiff competition amongst bakers will see creations (that are 100% edible) made under the theme of FAMILY!

Members of the public are invited to view the sweet creations in exchange for a donation to Habitat For Humanity and vote for their favourite

All funds raised from the public support Habitat for Humanity Victoria and its efforts to make affordable home-ownership possible for low-income families living in the Victoria region. Last year’s event raised a record amount of funds in excess of $37,000 for Habitat For Humanity!

On behalf of the TLC Fund for Kids, The Zone @ 91-3 is proud to present the Victoria Royal’s annual Teddy Bear Toss night on Saturday, December 12^th at the Save on Foods Memorial Centre

Bring a new stuffed bear (or other animal) to the game OR purchase a stuffed Marty the Marmot at the game courtesy of Save on Foods (with proceeds going to the BC Children’s Hospital) and when the Royal’s score their first goal, toss your Teddy’s onto the ice!

All of the Teddy’s will be donated to deserving kids in our community through local Christmas charities.

The TLC Fund for Kids will also be on-site at the game hosting the 50/50 draw!

The Zone @ 91-3 is proud to announce our partnership with Surfrider Foundation Vancouver Island as the official media partner for Combing The Coast, the organization’s monthly beach clean-ups.

Join Team Zone as we help the Surfrider Foundation Vancouver Island with their mission of ensuring the protection and enjoyment of Vancouver Island waves and beaches through strong beach cleanup, waste analysis and data collection action.

Combing The Coast Beach clean-ups happen on the 2nd Sunday of every month from 11AM – 1PM and everyone is welcome to come out and volunteer.

The next beach clean-up is scheduled for Sunday, December 13 at Muir Creek.

Join Team Zone as we help the Surfrider Foundation with their mission of ensuring the protection and enjoyment of Vancouver Island’s waves and beaches through strong beach clean-ups, waste analysis and data collection action.

Combing The Coast beach clean-ups happen on the second Sunday of every month from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Everyone is welcome to come out and volunteer, with equipment and light snacks provided.

The Zone @ 91-3 is proud to partner with the UVic Vikes to host our annual TLC Fund For Kids Basketball Camp on Sunday, February 21 at UVic’s CARSA Performance Gym.

Children aged 7 – 14 will have the opportunity to take part in a half-day basketball camp with Uvic Vikes Coaches and Players followed by lunch!

For a $25 registration fee, participants will receive:

• a 2-hour coaching session with Vikes Coaches and Players
• Lunch courtesy of Subway
• A t-shirt
• Ticket to a Vikes basketball game ticket

Camp will run from 9:30AM – 11:30AM, followed by lunch from 11:30AM – 12:30PM

YYJ Rocktographers is expanding to their biggest and best showcase of local concert photography!

This year’s showcase features the best of 2015, including shots from concerts big and small as well as festivals like Rock The Shores, Rifflandia, Otalith, and Sasquatch. Photos of Jesse Roper, Black Keys, Jane’s Addiction, Rush, Arkells, Modest Mouse, and more!

The Zone @ 91-3 is proud to support The Wounded Warrior Run BC.

The Wounded Warrior Run BC features a team of dedicated runners (composted of six serving miltary members, reserves and veterans) who will relay run the length of Vancouver Island for six consecutive days starting Monday, February 22^nd and finishing on Sunday, February 28^th

The journey will begin in Port Hardy and end in Victoria, covering an excess of 600 km.

The goal of the run is to raise awareness for PTSD, depression, addiction etc. for Canadian Forces members who have been wounded or injured in their service.

The Wounded Warrior Run BC (WWRBC) was created to provide increased financial support and public awareness for Wounded Warriors Canada. They help find therapeutic programs and solutions for military men and women in need. Currently, their primary focus is on mental health and, particularly, the staggering impact of PTSD and Operational Stress Injuries.

The Zone is excited to support the 7th annual Tillicum LEGO Mania Competition!

Kids age 5 – 14 can create their own LEGO structure with this year’s theme, ‘Life In The Sea’, and enter it in to be on display at Tillicum Centre from March 18 – 20. Then, a panel of judges will mark the structures based on building skills and creativity to name the top entries in each age category. Winners will receive a LEGO set and their models will be on display at Tillicum Centre and Brickville DesignWorks websites.

Plus, you can meet LEGO Certified Professional, Robin Sather, and watch him build a new giant LEGO mosaic creation!

Registration starts on Tuesday, February 16 and spaces are limited, so don’t hesitate!

Victoria Beer Week is a nine-day series of events highlighting a broad selection of BC craft breweries while educating greater Victoria residents about craft beer.

The week is fueled by events that pair BC craft beer and local Victoria artisan food vendors, with a clear focus on showcasing quality BC craft beer and educating beer enthusiasts.

Smaller tastings, seminars and micro-events happen at various venues throughout the week.
